Top Ten Highlighters
By Asmara Kapur
Highlighters are all that anyone can talk about recently. I am here to give you guys the top ten highlighters out of the hundreds that have been put out recently, getting you ready for that gorgeous glow. Expect a couple of high-end products, but do not despair, for I’ve included those drugstore deals since we are all on that college budget.
1. NARS ILLUMINATORS ($30)
These highlighters come in the colors Copacabana, Orgasm, Hot Sand and Laguna. This illuminator will make you look candlelit all the time. It makes your skin radiant and gives it a very strong glow.
2. BECCA SHIMMERING SKIN PERFECTOR PRESSED ($38)
This highlighter comes in a liquid version and a powder version; however, the pressed powder take on it has way less mess and you don't waste as much product.
3. NYX BORN TO GLOW LIQUID ILLUMINATOR ($7.59)
This highlighter is a cheaper option than the NARS illuminators but also works super well. It has a creamy consistency and is easy to apply to the skin- it leaves a very subtle and natural glow, so if that’s what you are going for, get yourself this highlighter!
4. L’OREAL MAGIC LUMI LIGHT INFUSING PRIMER ($10.97)
This highlighter brightens and bounces light from your skin. Its reflectiveness is very subtle, so if you want a glow that doesn’t attract too much attention, this is the one for you!
5. COLOUR POP HIGHLIGHTERS ($8)
These highlighters come in over 20 shades and are not talked about that much, but they are a personal favorite of mine. This highlighter has given me one of the strongest glows and is super affordable.
6. ANASTASIA BEVERLY GLOW KIT ($40)
This highlighter is definitely more on the pricey side, but you get a lot of product for what you pay for. You can use some of the colors in the palette to contour or even blush your face. It’s a very easy powder to use that gives you an Instagram-worthy glow.
7. PHYSICIANS FORMULA POWDER PALETTE MINERAL GLOW PEARLS ($8.99)
The shade that this highlighter comes in complements every type of skin tone and gives a very soft glow, while being very comparable to high-end products.
8. MAKE FACE GLOSS ($25)
A gloss for your face may sound weird at first, but this is a clear gel that creates a natural dewy effect, as it is free of any sort of shimmer or pigment. You can either use a small dab for a subtle glow, or apply more for an intense shine.
9. BENEFIT WATT’S UP ($30)
This is a cream-to-powder highlighter that stays on all day and leaves your skin feeling super smooth- this is an amazing product for people with oily skin.
10. KEVYN AUCOIN THE CELESTIAL SKIN LIQUID LIGHTING ($52)
This is definitely one of the most expensive highlighters that I have seen. However, it provides an illuminating and weightless effect on your face and can also be used as a foundation primer if needed. It lasts for 12 hours of constant radiance.
