There are few things I hate more than having an annoying acne scar or blemish and struggling to cover it up. Thanks to concealer, we are able to cover everything from zits to dark circles to tattoos. You have probably noticed that lately concealers come in different shades besides skin tone shades. Concealers now come in different shades such as pink, yellow, green, purple, blue, etc. Each shade targets a specific issue. Read on if you want to change up your makeup routine.
The new colored concealers that are out on the market are based on a basic principle: the color wheel. The idea is that colors that are the opposite from one another will cancel the other out. For instance, if you want to cover up red acne blemishes, a green concealer works the best.
By simply referring to the color wheel, you can understand how to make irritating problems disappear. As I just mentioned, the color green will neutralize any redness on your face including blemishes, rosacea, and scars.
Yellow
Yellow concealers are great for evening out skin tone. It’s also a great eye shadow base and cheekbone/brow highlight.
Pink
Concealers in the color pink are great brightening agents. Just like green is the opposite of red on the color wheel, pink is opposite bluish-green colors so it can give olive toned skin a boost. Pink is also great at canceling out some people's undereye circles - check if yours are bluish-green and this would be a great option! If they are more purple in tone, read on.
Purple
Purple concealers are best for getting rid of unwanted yellow undertones on your skin. It will add a nice glow to a dull or pasty complexion.
Orange
This particular concealer color is best for dark under eye circles since it counteracts blue and purple hues. This is also great for freckles or hyper-pigmentation.
